Everyone’s out in sunny (and soon to be soggy) Alabama, buying black-eyed peas for luck, greens or cabbage for prosperity, and pork for…uh…to support the local pig farmers…Heck, I don’t know why. Because it’s tradition.
I miss my New Orleans tradition, which consisted for a trip to Popeye’s Fried Chicken. For fifteen years, I heralded the New Year with an extra spicy chicken breast and a side of red beans. Much better.
What’s your tradition?
