Introducing: The Preternatura Book Club! Win DEAD WITCH WALKING

By popular demand, our first book club read will be (drum roll) DEAD WITCH WALKING, the first book in Kim Harrison’s Hollows/Rachel Morgan series. I haven’t re-read this series in quite a while so it’s going to be fun to go back and start over!

So, drag out your tattered copy, check it out of the library, order one…or just read along here on the blog. Or take your chances and comment today to win a copy.

Here’s how it will work. Every Wednesday beginning May 4–that’s week after next–we’ll have Book Club. I’ll do a summary of what happened in two chapters (so on May 4, we’ll cover chapters 1 and 2), and throw out a discussion question, then we’ll see what happens.

Obviously, the chapter discussions will have spoilers so if you aren’t reading along–be warned. Although I will try to limit series spoilers so those reading the series for the first time won’t know what happens to characters like Kisten or Algaliarept farther along in the series, for example.

I’ll archive all the book club posts and discussions, so if you fall behind or are late getting started, you can always find them.

So, there you have it! Let’s see how this goes. When we finish DWW, if it’s been fun and has worked, we can either continue with the series or go to something new. In the meantime, if you’d like to win a copy of Dead Witch Walking, just say so already! 2. Oh, goody! I actually started this one, read the first three chapters and got distracted by one of those danged Black Dagger boys (to me, they are likes squirrels are to a dog with ADHD).

  3. LOL, Teri Anne–I’m the same way. Wave a BDB book in front of me and I will follow you anywhere.

Yay, Andrea! All you have to do to join is show up! Hopefully, by reading a couple of chapters a week people will be able to keep up without it being a big time investment.

  4. Ohhh I read this years ago and loved the series. I would love to join in the fun for the bookclub. I got all of my books through the library but I would love to be entered.

  11. Would really enjoy re-reading Dead Witch Walking”. It was my first urban fantasy read. My copy signed by Kim at Anderson’s books. Now my TBR pile of urban fantasy is large.

  12. Hi. I am interested in participating in your book club. I however, don’t have a copy of the book. You said that we could read along. Is it like the excerpt of the book you haveto read Chenoire on the side?? If that is the case then I can do that. If you can let me know and send an email to teritru@live.com. thanks.

  13. Oh, I will have to give this a pass for now. I hate Anita Blake and if the heroine is even remotely like her I will hate that series.
But I will watch and join in next time.

  14. @Rikki–Rachel Morgan, the “star” of the Hallows series is SO not like Anita Blake! She might even be the anti-Anita. πŸ™‚
