From the ROYAL STREET Playlist–Ernie K-Doe (And Did You Win a Book This Week?)

 Happy Sunday!
Today, from my Royal Street playlist, I’d like to share a classic New Orleans song, Ernie K-Doe’s “Mother in Law”—love this old song! There’s a bar in New Orleans called Ernie K-Doe’s Mother in Law Lounge on Claiborne in the Treme neighborhood. Ernie opened it in 1994; he died in 2001. The lounge drowned under nine feet of water in Hurricane Katrina in 2005 but was reopened by Ernie’s widow in 2006.

Now, on to the business of the day. Did you win a prize last week? Here are our weekly winners.
