Today’s featured book is LENOBIA’S VOW, a new novella from mother-and-daughter writing team PC and Kristin Cast. This is one of a series of novellas that will tell some of the backstories of some of the House of Night series’ characters. In this one, we learn the story of Lenobia, the horseback riding instructor.

ABOUT THE BOOK: The second of the House of Night Novellas brings us Lenobia, the strong, beautiful horseback riding instructor, who guides Zoey through some of her darkest hours, and has a dark secret buried in her own past…In a small southern town at the turn of the century, young Lenobia is developing into a beautiful young woman with ideas of her own. But when she is Marked as a fledgling vampyre, her world turns upside down, and she is drawn to the musical streets of New Orleans. There, she learns of the city’s dark underbelly, ruled by powerful black magic. As Lenobia experiences her first love – and loss – and discovers a passion for horses to sustain her, she must come face-to-face with Darkness itself. And she may not escape without scars.

  1. I’ve read book one and really enjoyed it. I’ve since borrowed my sister’s collection and bought some stragglers. I’d love to add Lenobia’s Vow to the tbr as well.

  2. My favorite thing is that it is set in Tulsa, where I’ve lived since 1983. I’ve even met P C Cast, and she is very sweet. I get a kick out of the local places mentioned in the HoN books, some very close to my work.
