COVER REVEAL: After Royal Street comes River Road

This is sort of an after-the-fact reveal, since it went up on my publisher’s Facebook page in January and I hadn’t seen it.But it wasn’t a total shocker because I’d seen the rough sketches. Now, here it is in all its green, swampy glory, with a cover by the ever-talented Cliff Nielsen. I’m prejudiced, of course, but I think it rocks!

Now, you might ask, why is DJ standing in a swamp with a glowing staff, covered in mud? And is that an alligator heading her way in the lower right? Well, you’ll have to wait until November 13, the release date for River Road, book two in the Sentinels of New Orleans series!

TIP: If you’ve read the free novelette Chenoire (you can find it in one of the tabs above), then you already know one of the characters introduced in River Road, merman Rene Delachaise.

Now, for the business of the day, there’s still time to enter this week’s giveaways. All but one will end tonight at midnight CDT and be announced on tomorrow’s blog.

  1. I’m half way through Royal Streets at the moment and I’m loving it!! River Road is already on my wish list – feels like a long wait! 🙂

  2. Thanks, Sandy! I think the artist did a great job–a lot of the book is set in the swamps and wetlands of Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, near the mouth of the Mississippi River.

Both Royal Street and River Road (and the third book, Elysian Fields) are named after major streets in New Orleans.

  3. It’s lovely. I can hardly wait for Royal Street, and the second one is on the horizon already! Looking forward to reading them.

  4. I was already looking forward to the first one, now I can’t wait for the second one either!

You are rocking the “Very cool cover” lottery! 🙂

  5. This is a great cover! I have a galley of Royal Street and am looking forward to reading and reviewing it before its release date (though the formatting did come out a bit wonky on my Kindle, which is a little annoying).

  6. Ack, Allison–I know what you mean. It’s wonky on my Kindle, too. It was one of the first galleys Tor ever put up on NetGalley, I think, and they were still trying to figure it out.

Thanks in advance for reading it–I hope you enjoy!
