Thanks for everyone who participated in yesterday’s Shop Talk–interesting discussion!
I hope to have a new drive-by review tomorrow, but for today, here’s just an overview of some things coming up on the blog and elsewhere….
June 24! That week will be devoted to a free read in five parts of Jackson Square, a Jean Lafitte novelette set in the Sentinels world. It will be up five days only as a freebie, and then it will be available as a (very inexpensive–less than $2) digital download, along with Jean’s first-person account of the Battle of New Orleans. He has quite a unique spin on it, as you might imagine!
I just got the cover in, and OMP (Oh. My. Pirate), it is chock full of awesomeness! I will do a Cover Reveal before the 24th.
I’m scheduling guest posts and such through June and July before kicking off the official Elysian Fields blog orgy from August 10-September 10, so be thinking of your writing prompts and flash-fiction suggestions! I’ll put out the first call for them next week.
If you’re going to be in the Atlanta area on Wednesday, July 17, head over to the Atlanta Marriott Marquis between 5:30-7:30 p.m. for the annual 2013 ‘Readers for Life’ Literacy Autographing. Think MASSIVE piles of authors signing books, with all proceeds going to ProLiteracy worldwide as well as local literacy groups. Both Suzanne and Susannah will be occupying my seat, and I’ll be signing Royal Street, River Road, and the Penton series. You can see the full list of authors who’ll be signing their books HERE. This event is free and open to the public.
Mark Saturday, November 2, on your calendars if you are going to be in the Birmingham area. I’m hosting a table for lunch at the Southern Magic Readers Luncheon, held at the Harbert Center in downtown Birmingham. We’ll have lunch, you’ll have a chance to meet cool authors like Lexi George and Naima Simone and Carla Swafford and Christy Reece and Jennifer Echols and on and on and on. Also, you will win all kinds of books and goodies, AND you can hear the guest speaker Jeaniene Frost, who will be signing her books afterward along with all the other authors. You can find more info HERE, and I’ll post a link when tickets go on sale. They’re usually about $25.
Coming up even farther afield…The Coastal Magic Conference next February in Daytona Beach, Florida, is looking more and more awesome and is going to be very much geared toward readers. Check out the event, particularly the Featured Authors tab, to see what all’s going on and who’ll be there. (Shannon Butcher, anyone?)
And that’s it for now, folks!
