Weekly Recap, Weekly Preview, Weekly W*nners

Man, what a week. Started off with oral surgery at 8 a.m. on Monday and ended with the invasion of bats on Saturday. My little, chirping winged friends are in the process of moving on to a new home (several thousand dollars later…OUCH), one of the little buggers is on his way to the state tox lab to test for rabies, and the next part of the ordeal will take place Wednesday when the wildlife-control people will journey into my attic to remove any remaining visitors by hand and see what kind of guano cleanup (which causes lung disease) is necessary.

Can I hear it for “let’s have a normal week for a change”?????

Okay, so while I’m still awaiting the go-ahead to talk openly about a couple of projects, here’s the deal for the coming fall–when both Suzanne and Susannah are going to be dealing with INSANE deadlines. Preternatura will go on as usual, publishing six days a week, but I’ve lined up a ton of author friends to come in and sponsor giveaways and tell you about their new books–and, of course, I’ll be here every day as well.

A huge THANK YOU to all of you who followed the blog tour this past week. It will continue, but at a slower pace (well, except for tomorrow), through September 10, so I hope you’ll keep following along and enter each time for the iPad/major tour prize. I’d love to see one of my regular blog readers walk away with the prize!

And you just knew I’d use those darn bats in one of my flash-fiction stories, right? So come back tomorrow for the link to “Bat Out of Hell,” as well as “I Yam What I Yam”–yes, two shorts tomorrow!

Now….did you win a book this week? If you see your name, please email me HERE and let me know your mailing info. Note that for the Elysian Fields tour, Tier 1 prizes are being awarded by Tor Books so those have a later end date; Tier 3 prizes will be announced on September 10. I’ll be announcing Tier 2 winners here each Sunday. So….
