Howdy! I’d planned to blog about the RT Booklovers Convention today and share some cool photos but looky looky looky what came my way yesterday! I love it so hard! I do think the Pirate’s Alley cover is my favorite of the series so far. DJ is totally rockin’ the fierce look. What do you think?
I can tell you that this cover is a really good representation of the climactic scene in the book. As has been the case with the other covers in the series, there are some things hidden here. DJ is in a tree–one of the big live oak trees one finds in New Orleans. There is some Spanish moss hanging from some of the branches. The lights up in the lefthand corner reflect the scene’s location at the Celebration in the Oaks, an annual light show that is held in New Orleans’ City Park every year between Thanksgiving and Christmas. (The book takes place in mid-December.)
In the lower left corner, you can see…SNOW. Yep, snow. So I guess DJ’s gonna get a little nippy in that tank top, eh? Guess Alex (or would that be the pirate?) will have to keep her warm. I can’t tell you any more about the cover because it would give away the final scene. You know, like why DJ is in a tree and looking up. And why she looks mad as hell.
Sigh. It’s gonna be a long wait until next April!
