COVER REVEAL, Scene-Snippet, Winners, Pardon My Dust

Okay, so first of all, this website is now officially a Work In Progress! I don’t know if it’s going to be faster but eventually, I hope so. The number of images I have on the site, mostly due to the Monday Reader’s Choice listings, is part of what’s slowing it down. Patience! If I have to I’ll leave WordPress the Turtle and return to Blogger the Racehorse.

Second, thanks for bearing with my as I took some time off in August to re-energize. But now, August is (almost) over, so I’ll be back to regular blogging this week.

Third, guess what? DEADLY, CALM, AND COLD, book #2 in The Collectors series, has a cover! Woot! Here it is….Cool, huh? The map in the background shows the primary location of the novel, which is in Lincolnshire, England, in the village of Swineshead. The lost treasure at the heart of this story is the British crown jewels lost by “Bad King John” in 1215 or so, a few days before he died. I’ll talk more about it as the release date approaches, which is December 2! (And–YAY–no serial novel this time.)

DCC-Final Cover

In the meantime, here are the Reader’s Choice winners from the past few weeks. As always email me ( ) with your mailing info and whether you’d like print or digital…

ROMANCE READER ENTHUSIAST won The Highlander Next Door by Janet Chapman.

TWIMOM won Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods.

ANCA B. won Jaye Wells’ Cursed Moon.

Congrats, everyone!

Now, I’ll leave you with not a scene per se, but the official back-cover blurb for Pirate’s Alley!

Wizard sentinel DJ Jaco thought she had gotten used to the chaos of her life in post-Katrina New Orleans, but a new threat is looming, one that will test every relationship she holds dear.

Caught in the middle of a rising struggle between the major powers in the supernatural world–the Wizards, Elves, Vampires and the Fae–DJ finds her loyalties torn and her mettle tested in matters both professional and personal.

Her relationship with enforcer Alex Warin is shaky, her non-husband Quince Randolph is growing more powerful, and her best friend Eugenie has a bombshell that could blow everything to Elfheim and back. And that’s before the French pirate Jean Lafitte, newly revived from his latest “death,” returns to New Orleans with vengeance on his mind. DJ’s assignment? Keep the sexy leader of the historical undead out of trouble. Good luck with that.

Duty clashes with love, loyalty with deception, and friendship with responsibility as DJ navigates passion and politics in the murky waters of a New Orleans caught in the grips of a brutal winter that might have nothing to do with Mother Nature.

War could be brewing, and DJ will be forced to take a stand. But choosing sides won’t be that easy.

Hm….wonder what all that’s about!

Sadly, it won’t be out until April. BUT plans are afoot for two novellas and story collections, one in November tentatively titled PIRATESHIP DOWN, and the second in February, as yet untitled. I’m working out the details on those, so stay tuned!

  1. I like the cover. Eugenie has a bombshell, I’m going to guess then wait to see if I’m right.
Love novellas and short stories, can’t wait. Congrats to the winners.

    • ^^ we know Eugenie bombshell from a precedent snippet if you remember welll so you are probably right;)

and yes we can only love novellas and short stories to make us wait until chritsmas in mid year or nearly^^

  2. Congrats to the winners.
the Cover is really fitting for the genre and well done.
I must say that the change of look for the blog caught me out of guard but it’s a good one^^

we will be patient until april but the blurb really makes it want to pick the book

  3. Thanks, guys! Yes, Eugenie’s bombshell was “leaked” by me in a former snippet. Since it’s in the first chapter of the book, I didn’t really consider it a spoiler!

The blog is still slow, so I’m going to delete a bunch of photos from old posts and see if that helps.

  4. Snazzy cover! Love the colors. The blurb is a temptation for sure. Looking forward to the novellas to tide me over until April.
