The 30 Books in 30 Days AAD Giveaway-Weekly Winners

ПечатьA BELATED HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

We’re only about a month away from Authors After Dark in Atlanta (August 12-16)–there’s still time to sign up through July 10. In between deadlines, I’m collecting an odd assortment of things for gift bags to people sitting at my table at the Bump in the Night Ball (waves at Liz!), which will have a New Orleans/Louisiana theme in honor of both the Sentinels series and the upcoming Wildlife Wardens series.

In the meantime, it seems like a good time to do a buildup by giving away some books. You can always substitute one of my books, or you can leave it up to the fates and let me surprise you. I’m opening this internationally but expect it to come via slow boat because of the cost since an average book runs about $20 US to ship by fast boat 🙂 and I’m a poor, struggling author trying to eke out a living by working two full-time jobs.

There will always be a question to answer. In honor of Independence Day, what’s your favorite movie or book about aliens? Mine is…yep…’INDEPENDENCE DAY’ starring Will Smith and a cast of dozens. Great special effects for the time. NOTE: I will announce winners on Sundays.

And an update on the DARK SECRETS paranormal anthology that will come out on September 29, I have decided to set my novella in the Sentinels of New Orleans world. It will be set in NOLA (of course) and both of the Faerie Princes, Christof and Florian, will be in it, as well as a newcomer, the Prince of Autumn, Faulkner.

If you’ve read PIRATE’S ALLEY, you know the faeries are kind of….eccentric. Yeah, that’s a nice word for it.

WEEKLY WINNERS. Email me if you see your name here: suzannej3523@gmail.com. I’ll be catching up on mailings this week now that I’m out of my writing cave for a couple of days.

TIMITRA won Shadowshaper by Daniel Jose Older.

BARBED 1951 won a mystery book from my TBR stash. Tell me your favorite genre and I’ll try my best to get something you’ll like :-).

Now, for a 30-books-in-30-days prize, what’s your favorite alien movie (or book–we’ll extend it to books)?

  1. My favorite alien movie is Alien Nation. Loved the tv series, too.
Don’t forget 1776 when you think about Independence Day movies!

  2. There are so many to choose from, but the one I had the most fun with was Men in Black. I’d like to mention E.T. though as ell, that one was so sweet.

  3. The book with an alien hero that I re-read most often is Linnea Sinclair’s “Finders Keepers”. I would have to make that my favorite.

  4. for film? independantce day and the first starwar trilogy ( so film 4/5/6)
for book: kitty katt series by gini koch

thank you a lot for sharing that much with us!

  5. Geez, I like a lot of Alien movies. Star Wars, Star Trek, Independance Day, Men in Black are just a few. My favorite alien book is An Accidental Goddes by Linnea Sinclair.

Waving back at you Suzanne’s! Looking forward to AAD!

  6. My favorite alien movies are Independence Day, Star Trek, and Star Wars.
My favorite alien books are Dune and The Host.

  7. I also like Independence Day a lot, having watched it half a dozen times already. In this heat it’s hard to think what my absolute favorite might be though I must say that the first two parts of the “Alien” movies with Sigourney Weaver are definitely at the top of my list.

  8. I agree with you one of my favorites is Independence Day, I’ve heard they are making a sequel to it so I’m looking forward to that. Also a favorite alien tv show was Roswell.
