Time-Suck Tuesday (and TBR Giveaway)

Time to start giving away TBR books again! If you’re owed a book, it should be on its way via Media Mail in the U.S. now that I’ve handed off mailings to my friend Stephen–he’s much more efficient than I am. Since we’re in different states, I will still do the international mailings myself so those will probably lag 🙂

So…..let’s talk time-sucks! I started thinking about it last night when I went online to get a look at Shrimpers Row in Terrebonne Parish for a visual reference as I edited a scene from WILD MAN’S BLUFF, and next thing I knew, I’d been parked on YouTube for more than thirty minutes. This does not make for a productive person.

So here are some of my time-sucks for the week. Share your biggest time-suck this week to be entered for the TBR giveaway. (Even if it’s “reading your blog”–LOL.)

  1. If I get started looking at stuff on pinterest and pinning them next thing I know it could be hours later. Sad thing is I rarely go back and use any of the ideas I found lol.

  2. Time-Sucks, Solitaire, Mahjong, and Sudoku. Good for the brain? Time fillers, daily visits to several sites, Suzanne Johnson/Susannah Sandlin, Lecture toute une Aventure, Kim Harrison’s Drama, All Things Urban Fantasy, The THRILLIONTH page, Heroes and Heartbreakers, Tor.com, Book Chick City, Addicted 2 Heroines, Rabid Reads, Gini Koch, Fang-tastic Books, and Roxanne’s Realm. The time-suck come in by visiting other sites I find on side-bars. When retired time-suck and time fillers become something fun to do.

  3. pleasant activities taking all my time? this week nothing so far but i lost all yesterday in teh emergency for my mother ( she is at home now, better too thank god) so that was time consuming…. i do think atht before ( and in teh future probably) i lost a lot opf time trying to find cross stitching pattern online ( so many i start to pick twice teh same even) i need to put those file in order soon

  4. Work is my time suck! Its keeps me from reading 8 hrs a day, but I need it to be able to buy books, and pay bills unfortunately

  5. Walmart, Nexflix and the Internet. With each, I start looking for a certain thing and finish hours later with something entirely different.

  6. I’d definitely have to go with book blog surfing 🙂 I’ve started limiting myself so that I don’t lose all my free time.

  7. Pinterest. Usually I go there for one thing (mostly when I’m in search of a recipe) and I stay for hours because there are too many options and everything looks good.

  8. Random internet stuff. But I use most of my free time to read! Hope you are feeling better!

  9. I spend way too much time on the Internet looking for quilting patterns and watching quilting videos.

  10. I’m in the process of finding my costume for TNE, so I’ve been looking for all the items to be my Villian. Long, vibrant, green wavy wig. Black boots with a pointed tip in the front. Large emerald jewelry. I get lost in Cosplay sites, Pinterest, Amazon and shoe sites.

  11. Checking email–too many accounts, always brings up a more tempting diversion (especially newsletters).
