Taxes! Argh! But yes, they are done. It only took twelve hours of my life I’ll never get back again. How about you? If you’re in the US, have you done yours yet?
Instead of a snippet, I thought I’d go for the last few sentences I’ve written. Okay, the last few FICTIONAL sentences I’ve written, since I’ve spent most of the week writing web copy for a university in Texas. Hey, a girl’s gotta make a living even when she quits her day job.
Are you a writer? Then check out the author services I’m currently offering in the above tabs. I also have several workshops coming up.
Now. Sentences. These are from ILLUMINATION (Penton Legacy #5), coming in late May:
I will give you no context except who’s speaking, since it’s dialogue. This is the heroine, Shay, talk to Nik:
“You were listening while we dragged you down four blocks of Washington Avenue in full view of God and man, weren’t you? Think it was funny, letting two pregnant women haul your muscular ass down a city street while you pretended to be unconscious? I’d kill you if you weren’t already dead.”
Hm. I think Shay’s a little hot under the collar.
So…did you win a book this week?
Thanks to all of you who responded to my little poll on ending a series. It confirmed the direction I’ve gone with ILLUMINATION in that the whole cast needs to be involved while still giving Nik his romance. And congrats to JANIE, who won the $5 credit to Book Depository.
And congratulations to MIKI, who won this week’s Reader’s Choice. She chose the first book in Shannon Mayer’s Rylee Adamson series–or another book from Book Depository up to USD$15.
See you tomorrow for a new Reader’s Choice giveaway!
