RT: Where to Find Me

Going to be in Kansas City this week, attending the RT Booklovers Convention? If so, here’s where you can find me. Hope to see you there!

Wednesday, May 1

9 a.m.
The “first-timer” orientation because, yes, I’m an RT virgin.

10 a.m.
Welcome Party, Mezzanine Level, Exhibit Hall B

1:15-2:15 p.m.
Wearing my Susannah Sandlin hat, I’ll be part of the Montlake Mania Scavenger Hunt. Work your way around the room, talking to authors and finding the answers to your clues (hint: my questions come from Redemption) and win books or a Kindle Fire. With Tracy Brogan, Catherine Bybee, Coreene Callahan, Caroline Fyffe, Debra Holland, Kim Law, Barbara Longley, Nancy Naigle, Robin Perini and Laurin Wittig. Ballroom Level, Room New York B.

3:45-4:45 p.m.
Cover Model Karaoke. I have no idea what this is but it sounds…interesting. I will not be singing. That much, I’m sure of.

5-6 p.m.
The Seymour Literary Agency Shooting Stars Gala. Thanks to Teri Anne Stanley for the invite!

Cover Model Reunion Gala. Again, no singing. But I expect to see a lot of spray tans.

Thursday, May 2
Nothing official until…

2:45-3:15 p.m. I’ll be at “Club RT,” which means hanging out and talking to folks informally at Ballroom Level, Atlanta A&B.

8:30 p.m.-Midnight
The RT Formal Ball, wherein there will be no dancing and there’s a good chance I’ll actually be in my room, working on day job stuff.

Friday, May 3

10 a.m.-11 a.m. “From Forks to Bon Temps: Why Setting as Character Works.” I’m on the panel with CJ Ellisson, Leanna Renee Hieber, Lisa Kessler and Laurie London. We’re talking about our own settings, a favorite book we like the setting in and think it’s used well, and taking questions. Oh, and there might be books to win from each of us. Mezzanine Level, Van Horn B.

11:15-11:45 a.m.
Again, I’ll be at “Club RT,” which means hanging out and talking to folks informally at Ballroom Level, Atlanta A&B.

3:45-4:45 p.m.
Publisher Spotlight: Tor/Forge Books. I’m not there in any official capacity, but look for me in the crowd! Mezzanine Level, Benton A and B. Followed by the Publisher Spotlight for St. Martin’s Press.

7:30-8:30 p.m.
“Candy and Spoons” party with the folks from Entangled Publishing. Ballroom Level, New York B.

Saturday, May 4
11 a.m.-2 p.m. Giant Book Fair, siging with about 400 other authors in a tiny, intimate setting. NOT. But I will be there. You can brings two books from home per author to get signed, or purchase books at the event. Look for me as Suzanne, under “J.” Mezzanine Level Exhibit Hall A.

All day…hopping around the various FAN-tastic Day events. But at 6:30, I’ll be doing a half-hour featured author stint at the FAN-tastic Day Party, handing out swaggishness. Ballroom Level, Chicago, New York, San Francisco.

Sunday, May 5
I won’t be attending any of the events, but trying to make a mad-dash of a 15-hour drive home.

  1. Woo hoo!
I’m sooo excited to meet you! Can’t wait. Except the anxiety dreams could ease up a little. It will be good to get through the whole “first time RT, new author” thing out of the way…

  2. So many fun things to see! The cover model karaoke sounds like a hoot! Take pictures for yourself. I made a scrapbook from Chicago RT swag and author signatures.
