Thanksgiving in NOLA with the Sentinels of New Orleans Crew

Thanks to everyone for sharing your Thanksgiving thanks yesterday. Like you, I’m thankful for family, for friends–and for readers! Here are a few of my favorite people. Last weekend was the first time the whole gang had gathered at my little house (uh…crowded!), and there was a fun moment when one of the kids had ventured upstairs, then came running downstairs. “You gotta go up and see the library!” he told the others. So my office and TBR mountain range became a stop on the turkey-day tour.

So, yesterday we heard what the Penton crew were thankful for, and now it’s the Sentinels gang. I’m working on Book 4, PIRATE’S ALLEY, so you-know-who is getting lots of page time. Let’s start with him!

JEAN LAFITTE, bless his piratical heart, says he is most thankful for the chance to “exact revenge on the (censored) blackguards who caused such suffering and misery in recent weeks.” Yeah, we know exactly who he’s talking about. Speaking of which…

QUINCE RANDOLPH is thankful for his mate, and is certain that in the new year he will convince her that she belongs with him and not with…

ALEX WARIN is thankful that he and Jake finished making Gerry’s old house in Lakeview habitable in time for him to get some alone time with DJ for Thanksgiving. Well, at least physical alone time. Mental?

JAKE WARIN is thankful that he’s out of New Orleans and living elsewhere for now, and that he’s finally starting to get comfortable in his new skin. Fight, anyone?

RENE DELACHAISE is thankful for friends and for all the critters in the Beyond who are making him, along with his business partner the pirate, a very wealthy man.

EUGENIE DUPRE is grateful that she finally knows what’s going on, and that she’s gotten to meet the real Jean Lafitte, and that she learned the truth about Rand before things got worse…except they still could.

Which leaves….oh yeah, DJ. What do you think DJ should be most thankful for this year? I’ll pick one commenter to win a trio of mystery books from my “library.” Happy Black Friday! You could not PAY me to go within a ten-mile radius of a Walmart today!

  1. I had to go to Walmart for a part and some dinner rolls, place was empty, guess they were all shopping last night. I think D.J. should be most thankful for Alex and that she lives in New Orleans.

  2. If we that the surviving part as a given ( i mean who wouldn’t be thanjkful for that^^) i guess she can be thankful to have friend ( boyfriend) who take care of her pet ( poor sebastian), a girl friend to have some girly time ( because let gface it DJ needs it) and even better… to have Rene! a male friend without any inutendo but one she can count on when needed

  3. I think also that DJ is grateful to be still alive, especially when everything and everyone she held dear is gone. She is thankful to have some great friends, and that Jean Lafitte is taking care of Jake.
I am very much looking forward to reading the fourth book Suzanne! And I would love to browse your TBR in person.

  4. DJ should be thankful for all the caring people in her life-even the ones she considers pests!

Your TBR mountain must be amazing!

  5. I also think she should be thankful for her friends and allies 🙂 Thanks for sharing and glad to hear that you had a great Thanksgiving 🙂 I also enjoyed mine with my family.

  6. DJ should be thankful for her exciting life and her wonderful friends. What a lovely picture! Thanks for sharing.

  7. I think she be thankful for her friends and the people she lives who love her also. I also think she would be thankful for the fact that she’s survived all the things thrown at her.
    Thanks for the giveaway. 🙂

  8. I’d definitely say for her friends. They help her with so much! My mom works for Walmart and it was insane there!!! I dropped her off to work and stopped by to grab just a couple of movies that were cheap. But I was in no way fighting for them. I made it in and out ok but I dont understand why people have to be so rude to others.

  9. Even though Gerry is gone, she should be thankful for his love and all he left behind. Without him she would have been a sitting duck.
She should also be thankful for Alex. Always be thankful for a hot alpha male 😉
