Throwback Thursday, Casting Couch Edition

Today’s tour URLS:

First, I’m with Carmen over at Rabid Reads, talking about what goes into make a male character believable when he’s been written by a woman. (My argument is that we don’t want them TOO realistic in our fiction!) You can enter for the tour prizes at this stop.

I’m also doing a Q&A over at The Write Way Cafe, talking about Katrina and dream jobs, and there’s a giveaway of a $10 Amazon gift card just for commenting at that stop since it’s not part of the official blog tour–so hop on over and win!

I hit a bonanza last night as I searched for some workshop notes–and found HUNDREDS of photos I thought I had lost when I last switched computers. They’re completely unorganized, so you literally never know what I’ll come up with for Throwback Thursday.

This is a shot I pulled from somewhere when I started writing River Road, as the winning “cast” member for someone who’s become a major character in the series. I usually have a cast photo I keep in a folder for reference so I’m consistent from book to book.

Give him shorter hair and can you guess who it is? Give him tattoos. A LOT of tattoos, babe.

Wait for it….

Wait for it….

Yep, it’s RENE!

Is that kind of how you pictured him, if you’ve read the books?

  1. I agree. I would have guessed Jean Lafitte too. I would love to see his inspiration! I didn’t have a good picture of Rene in my head so this definitely helps.

  2. Ohhhhh, this is interesting! Maybe this should be the new Jean to replace the old Jean. I’ll have to dig up my old Jean photos and have a “Cast Jean Lafitte” contest!
